Goals and Values

St Oliver Plunkett School is a Catholic co-educational Primary School offering classes from Preparatory (Prep) to Year Six. The School is part of the Brisbane Catholic Education System and is administered from the Brisbane Catholic Education Office at Woolloongabba. As a Catholic School, and in the Spirit of the Presentation Sisters, our primary responsibility is for the staff to work in partnership with parents to nurture the Catholic faith of our children. Our School is a faith community wherein each child loves God, themselves and others and reaches their full potential. This faith dimension pervades all we do and say in our teaching and learning.

Families are reminded that when applying for the Prep Year, children must be born within the specific dates set down by the Queensland Government. Further information can be found here.

Inclusive Education

The Enrolment Application and Support Procedure (EASP) is a process that aims to reveal and clarify the needs of the student and to identify the educational adjustments and transition required for accessing the learning program for the student.

Preparatory (Prep) Enrolment Procedure

  • Families must first submit an Online Enrolment Application  along with a copy of the child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate and any medical or specialist reports that may assist in understanding the child's needs or circumstances regarding their development and readiness for school. An online application fee of $50 is required at this time.

  • Depending on eligibility, an interview will be scheduled to provide an opportunity for parents to meet with a member of the school leadership team to exchange information regarding their application for enrolment.  This interview will happen in April/May in the year prior to starting Prep.

  • Following all Prep Year interviews, offers may/may not be made for the following school year. Confirmation of enrolment form will be sent with request for payment of $100 to confirm enrolment. This payment is deducted from your Term 1 school fees. This payment is non-refundable if the students place is confirmed and later declined by the family.

  • An orientation session is conducted for the Prep students in Term 4.

  • If an enrolment cannot be offered in the first instance, all applications will be held on file.

Years One to Six Enrolment Procedures

Years One to Six enrolments happen across the year as well as intake at the beginning of each new school year. These positions are offered if positions become available through other students leaving. A similar process of application, interview and offer applies if positions are available.
